The Science × The Sacred
A scent you notice. A meaning you choose.
The science / Scent & associationWhy scent belongs in a ritual.
Research links scent with emotion and memory: a familiar scent can bring an earlier experience to mind. This connection inspires our approach to ritual.
Pairing a distinctive scent with a deliberate pause is the design idea behind Prithvi. A sensory reminder to make space for yourself, with no prescribed feeling or outcome.
The sacred / Earth & intentionGrounding, as a personal practice.
Prithvi names the Earth Element. In this ritual, earth is a symbol of steadiness: the ground beneath your feet, the weight of the present moment, the permission to be where you are.
House of Ritva takes its name from Ṛta, the Vedic principle of natural order and right rhythm. Science informs how we think about scent; spiritual meaning gives the pause a personal purpose.
Read the evidence behind our approach
The research below concerns olfaction and aromatherapy generally. It does not test Prithvi. We have not established clinical benefits for this finished blend and do not claim it treats anxiety, insomnia or any medical condition.
Make it a ritual
Roll. Notice. Return.
Your time. Your rhythm. Choose a moment that feels right to you; there is no prescribed time of day for your grounding ritual.

01 / Apply to your pulse points
For the proposed grounding ritual, roll lightly onto the pulse points at your inner wrists. Let this small gesture mark a moment of attention for yourself.
02 / Notice
If the scent feels comfortable, notice it gently. Breathe naturally and feel your feet resting on the ground. Let grounding be an act of attention to where you are.
03 / Return
Choose your own intention: be present, take your time, or make a little space. Let the moment fit your day, rather than fitting your day around it.
